Atlas je kapela z finské Nokie, která svoji tvorbu opírá o moderní metalcore, nebo spíš northcore, jak říká sama kapela. Pět členů Atlasu se nechalo inspirovat před pěti lety stálicemi typu Bring Me The Horizon a Architects. Do metalcore Atlas míchá i jiné vlivy, jako například rap, pop a ambient. Když dva finští bratranci nahráli v roce 1996 na kazetu první čtyři skladby a debutový počin své zbrusu nové kapely pojmenovali „Thorns of Ice“, nevěděli, že vytvořili legendu, která bude jednou obdivována, napodobována a adorována. Moonsorrow tehdy tvořili právě jen ti dva bratranci, Ville a Henri Sorvaliovi. Villemu bylo šestnáct a Henri byl o dva roky starší. Debutové album znělo naprosto zaměnitelně, jako další podobná black metalová alba. Dneska se nad debutem Moonsorrow usmívám. Jak pomalu taje sníh i ve vyšších polohách a na Finy přichází jaro, snaží se zúročit všechno, na čem pracovali za dlouhé tmavé zimy. A protože je novinek celá řada, nebudeme se zdržovat dlouhými úvody.
