The Suvilahti festival is a very unique event as fans from all over Europe enjoy the gigs on stage while back stage the elite of Finnish musicians meets on their private festival visit.
In the “promised land of heavy metal” (surprise: Finland [check this out on youtube and enjoy]) crowds of all ages ranging from very young children up to seniors, everybody being open and interested in music rather than being restricted to one particular (sub)genre. Addtionally numerous parties and after show gigs spread the festival atmosphere all over Helsinki, for example with Tuska Open Air Afterparty: Barren Earth, Vorna, Mørket on Friday 30.6.2017 in Virgin Oil.
While HIM have a station at Tuska on their final tour, Amorphis will present their current Bassist replacing Niklas who left the band lately.
Jewels of the Finnish scence such as Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, Mokoma, Wintersun and Insomnium set more highlights, I am very much looking forward to!
